60 Minutes and the Organized Assault on Gun Owners

In their most recent report, CBS' Ed Bradley and 60 Minutes CBS' Ed Bradley and 60 Minutes continue to attack American firearm laws and .50-caliber rifles using not only an acknowledged illegal alien but also numerous criminal acts to substantiate their position.

Years ago this very same media giant aired a story about how easy it is to modify a ‘so-called’ assault weapon to fire in the fully automatic mode. In this old story, skillful editing hid the actual time it took to modify the firearm as well as the necessity of having a full-fledged machinist do the work. But nothing stands in the way of covering, or should we say manufacturing, a story for 60 Minutes.

Of course their newest story couldn’t be to derail the vote that is coming soon to protect gun makers from harassment lawsuits by grandstanding anti-gun politicians?

This effort is also a naked attempt to influence legislation that would ban .50-caliber sporting rifles by falsely alleging that they could bring down commercial airplanes.

We have some questions for Mr. Bradley such as why if Mr. Krasniqi is on camera admitting that he supplied these guns to rebel fighters in Kosovo is he NOT under arrest for gun running and smuggling? It is a well recognized crime to ‘straw purchase’ firearms for someone else and could not these people he supplied guns to be considered terrorists?

CBS is continuing its tradition of attacking American firearms laws, while in reality, America has an over abundance of gun laws. What Mr. Bradley, 60 Minutes and CBS continue to overlook is that our firearms laws are designed more to trip up and penalize law-abiding citizens, rather than catch genuine criminals. Yet here we have a news organization that milks criminal acts to advance an agenda that Americans reject continually in polls and at the ballot box.
